Our Little Orange Oasis

  Outdoor Classroom We experimented with Bubbles in the Outdoor Classroom! We used bubble wands, bubble discs, and more. We saw many different ways to make bubbles. We then mixed water colors with their bubble solution. We talked about the colors we saw! We watched the bubbles fall to the ground. (SC1.1, PHG3.2)

 Water Day Water day this week will be on Friday. You can send them in their swimsuits if you would like. Please send a towel and extra sunscreen if they do not have any. If you would like to make a donation for water day, we could use Mr. bubbles. Reminders We will be closed on September 4 for Labor Day. We hope that you enjoy your long weekend. Upcoming Events Rosh Hashana  Rosh Hashana is the beginning of the Jewish New Year. They complete a prayer and eat special foods at night. These foods include apples, honey, pomegranates, and the head of a fish. Our class with be focusing on Mitzvot during this time. If you have a photo of your child completing a Mitzvot ( a kind act) please email it to me! 

 Upcoming Events  Bubble Day  Wednesday we will be having bubble day. We will experiment with different types of bubble wands, discs, and more! We will do this in the outdoor classroom! We will also experiment with colors as we dye the bubble solution to create bubble paint! Water Day We will have water day on Friday! We will do this in the Grove. Please feel free to send your child in their swimsuit as well as sending a towel and sunscreen, if you have not already.  Shabbat Shalom! 

 Photos If you have not yet please send in (email or printed) a photo of your child’s siblings if they have one and their pet or something special to them. We have been sharing with one another about our families and pets.  Conscious Discipline Conscious Discipline is the social emotional curriculum implemented at Giving Tree! We have been implementing a weekly Baby Doll Circle Time in the classroom. The children are offered to participate in the activity where they each take care of their own baby doll. We cover topics like boo boos, peek a boo, sleeping, diaper changing, feeding, I love you rituals, and more! Upcoming Events Challah  We will be having our first Challah on Friday! Challah is a special braided bread baked to celebrate Shabbat and other Jewish holidays. The children will assist in preparing their individual Challah for baking! 

Water Day We are going to do water day first thing in the morning at 8:30 do to the heat index. Please send your child with their swim suit on, sunscreen applied, and a towel. We are going to be doing a bicycle car wash!  Photo Reminder  If you have not already, please email in additional photos of your family pet/something special they have as well as a photo of their siblings if they have one. We are expanding our topic on families but sharing about the people we live with!  Extra Clothes  Please make sure that your child has extra clothes at school! Including a top, bottom, underwear (if it applies), and socks! 

Successful First Week of School!  First Week We had a great first week at school! We are continuing our study all about me by talking about siblings and pets! Please send any additional photos of a pet/something special they want to share and a photo of their siblings if we don’t already have one.  Water Day We are excited for our upcoming water day on Tuesday the 22nd on the bike track from 10-11.  You can send your child to school in their swim suit if you choose. Please sent water shoes/ extra shoes and a towel!  Shabbat We enjoyed our first Shabbat celebration in the classroom! We read a book, listened to prayers, and sang songs. Our friends participated in covering their eyes during the prayer for light. Reminders Please remember to package your snacks separately with two components each Friday.  Thank you Thank you to those who have donated off the Amazon wishlist! Our Little Oranges Our Family We have kicked off this week with a bang! We have made full body portraits and are working on getting them hung up in the hallway. We have painted pictures of our families! To continue to incorporate their family into the classroom we would love if you could email us a photo of a pet or special something that they have at home!  Donation We are asking for donations of any towels that you no longer need. We are the first class out in the morning and it is our job to dry off the slides, swings, and other eqipment to keep our friends and playground safe. We have created a link to our Amazon wishlist.  Welcome to Our School Family! Orange Oasis We are excited start the school year as Our Orange Oasis Classroom Family. We are all joining together on the journey with your children to help foster their development! We can hardly contain our excitement for the upcoming first week at school!  Our School Family The school family is an important component of Conscious Discipline. It connects the child's home environment with their school environment. We will begin the year with a photo wall. We are starting off the wall with family photos of every member of our classroom. We will also incorporate photos of activities from the class, school events, aftercare, and more.
